Service Description

The TCOLE Advanced Instructor Certification Course is designed to advance instructor knowledge and understanding of student motivations and generational values as well as advance the development of instructor skills in preparation, presentation, and overall competency in training. This course is designed to help train and develop the skills needed to teach other adults in a manor in which creates a professional and effective atmosphere. Topics covered: Understanding Generational Gaps Perception Risk and Task Analysis Need Assessment Stage Fright Student Behaviors Perspectives on Learning, Teaching, and Technology Modern Multimedia Development and Delivery Testing evaluation Student Presentation and teaching exercise Recommended Audience: Certified TCOLE Basic Instructors Licensed security Officers Emergency Medical Technicians Public Safety Trainer Prerequisite: Students must be a TCOLE certified instructor. Students must email their basic certificate to two weeks prior to the beginning of class. Instructor: Lieutenant Michael De Leon possesses over 16 years of experience as a Texas Peace Officer serving as both a Patrol Officer and Deputy Constable. Over the years, he has consistently strived to enhance his skills and qualifications, obtaining certifications as a Mental Health Officer and certified Crisis/Hostage Negotiator. His achievements include serving in various capacities, including Negotiator, Training Coordinator, and Team Commander in a joint metro SWAT team. He holds several notable certifications, including an Associate degree in Criminal Justice, Master Peace Officer proficiency, Advanced Instructor, and Instructor for De-Escalation.

Cancellations within 5 days of registering are 100% refundable, unless the following restrictions apply: Due to limited seating, we request that you cancel at least 5 days before a scheduled class begins. This gives others the opportunity to register for the class. If you have to cancel your class, and do so at least 5 days before the class, you may use the credit towards any future class. At any time after registering, or within 5 days of the course, you may transfer the registration to another person.
