When properly taken, photographs can speak for the victims and help tell the story of events that occurred. It is important that the investigator is knowledgeable with their camera so that clear and concise photos are collected throughout the investigation. This course will introduce basic camera operation and the application to investigative documentation. Topics covered: Basic DSLR camera operation – aperture, ISO, and shutter speed Use of the camera without a tripod Use of the camera with a tripod Use of scales Use of flash Photo composition Low light / painting with light Alternative light Photography in law enforcement Photograph admissibility – Identification Storing of images What to bring: Digital SLR camera with lenses (macro lens is optional, but bring if available) Extra batteries for camera and flash Camera remote / cable release Electronic flash SD cards for camera Tripod Flashlight Laptop computer (with photo card reader) - to review photos

Cancellations within 5 days of registering are 100% refundable, unless the following restrictions apply: Due to limited seating, we request that you cancel at least 5 days before a scheduled class begins. This gives others the opportunity to register for the class. If you have to cancel your class, and do so at least 5 days before the class, you may use the credit towards any future class. At any time after registering, or within 5 days of the course, you may transfer the registration to another person.
