Service Description
The Basic Instructor Certification program endeavors to equip individuals with primary principles of instruction, thereby enhancing the caliber of professional law enforcement training. The course covers various aspects of the teaching-learning process, including the different phases, factors influencing learning, needs assessment, task analysis, developing learning objectives, preparing lesson plans, and methods of instruction. Participants will also learn how to supplement their presentations by developing and integrating instructional media. The course will additionally cover essential techniques for designing testing and evaluation procedures. To exhibit their proficiency, each trainee will conduct two teaching exercises, which will undergo evaluation by two instructors. Topics Covered: COURSE OVERVIEW THE TEACHING-LEARNING PROCESS THE DOMAINS OF LEARNING FACTORS AFFECTING LEARNING PHASES OF THE TEACHING-LEARNING PROCESS LEARNING OBJECTIVES PREPARING A LESSON PLAN METHODS OF INSTRUCTION TESTING AND EVALUATION INTRODUCTION TO INSTRUCTIONAL MEDIA STUDENT DEVELOPMENT TEACHING EXERCISES Instructor: Lieutenant Michael De Leon possesses over 16 years of experience as a Texas Peace Officer serving as both a Patrol Officer and Deputy Constable. Over the years, he has consistently strived to enhance his skills and qualifications, obtaining certifications as a Mental Health Officer and certified Crisis/Hostage Negotiator. His achievements include serving in various capacities, including Negotiator, Training Coordinator, and Team Commander in a joint metro SWAT team. He holds several notable certifications, including an Associate degree in Criminal Justice, Master Peace Officer proficiency, Advanced Instructor, and Instructor for De-Escalation.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations within 5 days of registering are 100% refundable, unless the following restrictions apply: Due to limited seating, we request that you cancel at least 5 days before a scheduled class begins. This gives others the opportunity to register for the class. If you have to cancel your class, and do so at least 5 days before the class, you may use the credit towards any future class. At any time after registering, or within 5 days of the course, you may transfer the registration to another person.
