Service Description

This course is designed to instruct police personnel on procedures used for tactical mission planning and briefing of involved law enforcement personnel. Topics include the use of threat matrix, scouting procedures, mission planning documentation, operational planning for high-risk search warrants and briefing procedures. Primary, alternate, contingency, and emergency planning, suggestions on how to modify high risk search warrant planning to other types of tactical missions and much more will also be discussed. The primary goal of this course is to expose attendees to the intricacies of high risk search warrant documentation, planning, and briefing to allow for mission success. This is NOT a tactics or scouting course. Various tactical and scouting options will be discussed to demonstrate the flexibility of the briefing process. Upon completion of this course the attendee will be familiar with: 1. Mission Planning Documentation 2. High Risk Warrant Service Planning and Briefing 3. Barricaded Subject Operations Planning and Briefing 4. Scouting Procedures and Additional Resource Utilization 5. Primary, Alternate, Contingency and Emergency Planning 6. Examples of Mission Briefings 7. Group “Mock” Warrant Planning and Briefing Presentation Instructor: Lieutenant Jerod Morris has over 28 years of law enforcement experience and currently serves as the Lieutenant over the training division, as well as the training coordinator for the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office. He has been developing and instructing law enforcement curriculum since 2008 and currently holds a TCOLE Advanced Instructor Certification. He specializes in instructing defensive tactics, firearms, tactical training and vehicle operations. Jerod received his initial SWAT training in 1997. He currently serves as a Lieutenant and Tactical Commander over the SWAT, Dive, and Swift Water Team. He has over 20 years of training and mission experience with each of these teams. He was appointed as a United States Marshal Special Deputy in 2012 and served on the USMS Lone Star Fugitive Task Force from 2012 – 2017.

Cancellations within 5 days of registering are 100% refundable, unless the following restrictions apply: Due to limited seating, we request that you cancel at least 5 days before a scheduled class begins. This gives others the opportunity to register for the class. If you have to cancel your class, and do so at least 5 days before the class, you may use the credit towards any future class. At any time after registering, or within 5 days of the course, you may transfer the registration to another person.
