Instructors provide the fact scenarios based on current case law, facilitate discussion, and opportunities for hands-on experience in writing search warrant affidavits and constructing search warrants and returns. Class exercises include a fact pattern for which each attendee writes a search warrant affidavit and submits it to the instructors for constructive critique. A flash drive containing handouts with current law, templates for search warrant documents, and reminders of the subject matter covered is provided to each attendee. 16 Hour- 2 day course Instructor: Ted Wilson is a retired Assistant District Attorney with 35 years of service. He concluded his career as the Chief of the Special Crimes Bureau, where he worked closely with law enforcement on active investigations and authored numerous search warrants. Ted also co-authored the Texas District and County Attorneys Association Manual on writing search warrants, alongside Tom Bridges. ***********All students must bring a laptop with them.*************

Cancellations within 5 days of registering are 100% refundable, unless the following restrictions apply: Due to limited seating, we request that you cancel at least 5 days before a scheduled class begins. This gives others the opportunity to register for the class. If you have to cancel your class, and do so at least 5 days before the class, you may use the credit towards any future class. At any time after registering, or within 5 days of the course, you may transfer the registration to another person.
